Dance With Me

"I miss dancing," Override declared out of the blue.

Roulette continued working.

"After the races, there used to be dancing," Override went on without prompting. "They went on forever, sometimes even longer than the races! That's how I met Clocker. The idiot liked to think he was better at it than me. Do you know how to dance?"

Roulette did not consider herself graceful enough for dancing, as her armor arrangement limited her range of movement. Nevertheless, she did know how, so she dutifully said, "Yes."

Override hardly paused. "I know Moonracer does, she's told me about the parties she used to go to. I don't know about the others, though. Do you think we could teach them?"

Roulette pulled a blown circuit from the control panel to the storeroom door and began fitting in its replacement. Usually when Override got an idea like this into her head, she ran off to find Moonracer. But today, for whatever reason, she'd come to find Roulette instead. "Getting us all off duty at once could be difficult."

"Maybe you're right." Override's optics flickered in thought, then brightened. "That doesn't mean that we can't!"

Now Roulette did look up. "What?"

"Come on!" Override sprang to her pedes. "That will hold for a click. I know it won't be quite the same with only two of us, but please?" She extended a hand, upper body tilted forward in formal entreaty, optics glittering with delight at her idea. "Dance with me?"

Roulette frowned at Override's hand, and then at her half-finished work. Then she set down her tools, following Override to her feet more slowly. "It's been a long time," she felt she had to warn. Override only grinned wider as Roulette placed her hand in hers.

Notes: I've been wanting to start using more of the two unnamed female Autobots from Elita's group but needed names. Eventually decided to name them after characters from other continuities though, canon enthusiasts be warned, I'm not using more than a tiny bit of their personalities and backgrounds.
